Surfing Haven
The wide surf zone near our caravan park is a popular spot for windsurfers, thanks to its expansive waters and steady conditions. While the inner surf zone offers a gentle environment ideal for beginners learning to ride the waves, more experienced surfers can head to Bombers and Shelly for beach breaks when the swell picks up.
For a real challenge, venture further out to Boatshed, a right-hand break over the rocks, perfect for thrill-seekers looking to test their skills. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned surfer, these waters offer something for everyone.
Caving Adventures
One of the most unique and thrilling local activities is caving at Bats Ridge, a favorite among adventurers. This remarkable site is home to two vast underground caves, perfect for explorers of all levels.
With the guidance of our experienced, contracted guide - who knows every nook and cranny -you’ll embark on an unforgettable journey into the depths of these impressive caves. Whether you’re a seasoned caver or a first-timer, the experience at Bats Ridge is sure to leave you in awe.
Maritime History
Victoria’s far southwest is steeped in maritime history, with Portland boasting the state’s first commercial port and a once-thriving whaling industry. At the heart of the local museum is the historic Portland Lifeboat - one of the world’s oldest of its kind.
This iconic vessel gained international fame for its heroic role in rescuing survivors from the Admella shipwreck in 1859. Step back in time and discover the stories of the sea. Book a tour and immerse yourself in this fascinating slice of maritime heritage.
Swan Lake Sand Boarding
Set in the rugged beauty of Swan Lake, surrounded by towering dunes that back onto Discovery Bay, this half-day adventure promises endless fun. Kids zoom down the massive sand dunes on repurposed snowboards, racing to see who can go the furthest. It’s a high-energy activity filled with running, rolling, and boarding that guarantees excitement—and ensures a good night's sleep after a day of adventure!
Swan Lake is located about 40 minutes from the camp, and groups are required to provide their own bus for the trip. Sand boarding at Swan Lake is an unforgettable experience for all ages!
Great South West Walk
We are fortunate to have at our doorstep, a world-class hiking experience. The renowned 250km Great South West Walk trail stretches from Portland to Nelson, offering breathtaking views along both coastal and inland routes. While the entire journey is a challenge for the adventurous, it’s just as enjoyable in smaller sections, allowing visitors to explore iconic nearby spots like the Blow Holes, the Petrified Forest, the Seal Lookout, Discovery Bay, and Cape Nelson Lighthouse.
Portions of the trail are often used as a fun and scenic way to reach other activities. How much or how little you hike is entirely up to you—whether it's a short stroll or a longer trek, the beauty of the trail is yours to discover.
